ON A TRIP
On long trips and expeditions it is good to take some duct tape, plus a needle, thimble and strong nylon thread to handle any emergencies. Also handy for fabric rips is a length of Tear-aid, Tenacious tape or Gorilla tape which give neat long term repairs of rips and holes. We recommend clean rips be repaired by yourself in these situations, as they are not covered by our guarantee and this avoids shipping charges and repair costs.
OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND - WITH COUNTRY DISTRIBUTOR
For repairs outside of New Zealand, please contact your country distributor as listed under Buying on this site.
OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND - NO COUNTRY DISTRIBUTOR
For repairs outside of New Zealand where we do not have a country distributor, we can do the repairs in New Zealand but the customer needs to cover shipping costs as per our warranty. If the problem is due to faulty workmanship or materials, there
will be no charge for the repair. If the problem is due to wear and tear or unsuitable use, we will make a modest charge for the repair. We like to make the product last as long as possible for environmental reasons.
Often it is cheaper to have the repairs done by your local bootmaker rather than send to NZ for repair. If parts are needed, we can most likely supply these.
WITHIN NEW ZEALAND
For repairs within New Zealand, please contact Aarn directly rather than going through your local retailer. Products need to be in a clean condition in order for us to do a repair, especially if they hold a strong smell. You can clean the gear using a small brush, laundry soap and hot water.
If you send direct to us, we can repair it for you either under warrant or at a modest charge. If the product is no longer under warranty, or it is not a warranty issue, we ask you to cover the return shipping charge (North Island $20, South Island $15).
